CAST Executive Director


 

Cathy "Kate" Stallings is the driving force behind CAST. She has performed and directed with groups in all levels of theatre, including professional, educational, and community.

 

Ms. Stallings' directing credits include Foxfire and numerous youth productions for The Temple Theatre in Sanford, NC; Director/Choreographer of all productions on the Mississippi Queen Steamboat; The World Premiere of BLUE, The Wizard of Oz, Seussical, Into the Woods, High School Musical, Quilters, Steel Magnolias, Shenandoah, and an ongoing list of credits with CAST; TNCTC award-winning productions of Quilters and Shadowbox and The Secret Garden with Foothills Performing Arts; Over the River & Through the Woods with The Green Room Theatre; To Kill a Mockingbird, Oliver!, and Annie with Hickory Community Theatre.

 

As an actress, you may have seen

Ms. Stallings as "The Duty Nurse" in the blockbuster film, The Fugitive, starring Harrison Ford (IMDb). 

 

Onstage her credits are way too many to mention but select credits include Dr. Mary Martin Sloop in Miracle on the Mountain in Crossnore, NC, Glorie in Grace & Glorie, Rhetta in Pump Boys & Dinettes at The Temple Theatre; Connie in 1940's Radio Hour, Chelsea in On Golden Pond, and Daylight Spirits with Blowing Rock Stage Company; The Doctor in Spite of Himself with the NC Theatre in Raleigh; Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Adelaid in Guys and Dolls and Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire with Foothills Performing Arts; Mama Wheelis in Daddy's Dyin', Who's Got the Will, Dolly Levi in Hello Dolly, and The World Goes Round with the Green Room; Louise in Always...Patsy Cline, Meg in Crimes of the Heart, April in Company, The Blonde in Gunmetal Blues, Katharine in Taming of the Shrew , and Closer Than Ever with Hickory Community Theatre.

 

 

CAST General Manager 


 

Ashley Stallings handles the duties of General Manager, directs and stage manages productions, and is the instructor for Production Company Level B at CAST.  In her spare time, she is a paralegal student at Caldwell Community College.  Theatre is her first love.  Directing credits include Charlotte's Web, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Little Rascals for CAST; Rumplestiltskin for HCT; and The Smallest and Grandest of Adventures, Best Production winner of the Caldwell County Young Playwright's Festival.  Her onstage credits include The Best Christmas Pageant Ever with Blowing Rock Stage Youth Theatre; The Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz, Shelby in Steel Magnolias, Mr. Wormwood in Matilda, Nanny in Eloise, The Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, and Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird with CAST;  Evalita in Daddy's Dyin', Who's Got the Will? with The Green Room; Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods, Alice in Alice in Wonderland, Hermia in A Midsummer’s Night Dream, and Dearly Departed with South Caldwell High School; The Secret Garden and James and the Giant Peach with Foothills Performing Arts; and From This Day Forward.
